BLDC Motor — Industrial Series

BLDC Motor Built For Real Industrial Duty.

A BLDC motor (brushless DC motor) replaces mechanical brushes with an electronic controller, running longer, cooler and with tighter speed control than brushed drives. Shenghe builds BLDC motors from 12V to 310V and 10W to 3kW, with matched controllers, gearbox options and factory lead times that hold through order runs.

  • 85-92% efficiency at rated load
  • 20,000+ hour bearing-limited life
  • Hall sensor and FOC control variants
  • Matched BLD / BLDB controller series

Why Buyers Switch To BLDC

BLDC motors deliver more torque per kilogram than brushed DC motors, run without brush dust or arcing, and hold their rated speed under load when paired with a closed-loop controller. For AGV, conveyor, packaging and automation builders, the switch is driven by uptime, not novelty.

  • No brush wear — bearing-limited 20,000+ hour service life
  • 85-92% efficiency reduces battery drain and heat dissipation
  • Precise speed holding under variable load with PID closed-loop
  • Low audible noise suitable for medical, office and cleanroom use
  • Compact power density saves mounting volume inside machines

How A BLDC Motor Works

Electronic Commutation In Four Steps

01
DC power enters the controller

Bus voltage feeds a 3-phase inverter bridge made of six MOSFETs or IGBTs. The bridge can switch any of the three motor phases to the positive or negative rail.

02
Hall sensors read rotor position

Three Hall sensors spaced 120 electrical degrees apart produce a 3-bit code indicating which commutation step is active.

03
Two stator phases energize

The controller fires the phase pair that creates a magnetic field offset 90 electrical degrees from the rotor, producing maximum torque.

04
PWM regulates speed

Duty cycle on the active switches sets the effective phase voltage. Closed-loop PID adjusts PWM in real time to hold the target speed under load.

Proof Points That Matter To Engineers

  • NdFeB magnets sourced from Ningbo supply chain, grade 35UH or higher for temperature stability.
  • F-class insulation rated for 155°C winding temperature, safe margin for industrial duty.
  • Full-load burn-in on every motor before shipment, tested against nameplate current.
  • Hall sensor alignment verified on a phase-to-Hall test fixture, eliminating the most common field failure.
  • Matched controller validation — motor and controller are tested as a pair before they leave the factory.
  • Replacement stock held for the most popular frame sizes, same-week shipment for running lines.

BLDC Motor Frame And Structure Options

  • 42mm, 57mm, 80mm, 86mm, 110mm, 130mm frames — covering small servo-style drives up to heavy conveyor duty
  • Inner rotor for compact, high-speed industrial drives
  • Outer rotor for direct-drive fan and low-speed torque loads
  • Integrated gearbox — planetary, worm and right-angle options attached on the front flange
  • Integrated encoder — 1000 or 2500 PPR incremental for precision positioning
  • IP65 variant available for washdown and outdoor installations

Key Answers

BLDC Motor FAQ.

Direct answers for engineers and buyers evaluating BLDC motors.

What is a BLDC motor in simple terms?

A DC-powered motor where an electronic controller replaces mechanical brushes. Permanent magnets on the rotor are pulled around by a rotating field in the stator windings.

Is BLDC the same as PMSM?

Closely related. BLDC uses trapezoidal back-EMF and 6-step commutation; PMSM uses sinusoidal back-EMF and FOC. Shenghe offers both families.

How long does a BLDC motor last?

Service life is limited by the bearings, typically 20,000 hours or more under normal industrial duty. No brush wear means no mid-life service.

Do you ship with the controller?

Yes. Motor and matched BLD / BLDB controller ship and are validated as a pair, avoiding commutation mismatches at commissioning.
