BLDC Motor For AGV Projects That Need Practical Drive Performance.
AGV traction is a system requirement — the right motor needs matching torque, compact packaging, controllable speed and clean integration with the vehicle's drive electronics and wiring. Shenghe builds geared BLDC motors and matched controllers around exactly that, with engineering support during integration.

Built-In-House For AGV Buyers
Direct Factory Conversation, Not Catalog Resale.
AGV integrators usually need more than a stock motor — they need a build that matches payload, wheel diameter, gear ratio, encoder protocol and mounting. Our factory in Cixi, Ningbo runs CNC machining, in-house winding, controller PCB production and end-of-line testing on the same site, which keeps the OEM iteration short.

Sizing Guide
Motor Selection By AGV Payload Class.
Use the table as a starting point — exact recommendation depends on speed, slope, wheel diameter and duty cycle.
Direct answers used by AGV / AMR engineers and purchasing teams.
What motor power do I need for an AGV?
Match power to payload: 100-300W for light-duty (under 100 kg), 400-750W for medium (100-500 kg), 1000-1500W for heavy (500-1000 kg), 2000-3000W for pallet AGV (1000 kg+). Speed, slope and wheel diameter shift the exact figure.
24V or 48V — which voltage for AGV?
24V on light-duty short-runtime AGV. 48V dominates medium and heavy AGV — higher continuous power, smaller current, easier wiring. Heavy pallet-truck AGV sometimes runs 72V for thermal margin.
Wheel-hub or gear motor for AGV?
Gear motors with planetary or right-angle gearboxes are the more flexible choice — easier mounting, easier maintenance, easier OEM customization. Most Shenghe AGV customers use BLDC geared motor drive modules.
Do I need an encoder?
Yes for closed-loop speed or position control — virtually all autonomous AGV / AMR. Incremental 1024-2500 PPR for speed feedback; absolute encoders when wheel-position recovery is required. See BLDC motor with encoder.
When is a brake required?
When the AGV must hold position on a slope, must stop within a defined distance during emergency stop, or remain stationary during charging or load transfer. Optional on flat-ground indoor AGV with short cycles.
What to send for a quote?
Payload (kg), max speed (m/s), wheel diameter (mm), drive layout (single / dual / four-wheel), supply voltage, duty cycle, ambient temperature, quantity and any encoder/brake/controller need. Quote in 24 hours.
