The honest split between OEM elements that are billed at unit-price only (logo, label, packaging artwork, datasheet rebrand, country-of-origin marking) and elements that need a one-time tooling charge (custom housing colour above standard, embossed housing logo, out-of-band shaft geometry, fully custom connector). 6-Step OEM Workflow

From Brand Artwork Submission To Branded Container Loading.

The standard OEM project path Shenghe runs with new brand customers. Each step has a defined deliverable and response window so the buyer-side procurement, marketing, packaging-design and QA teams know what to expect at every stage.

  1. Step 1 — Send technical spec and brand artwork. Email or WhatsApp the four-number motor specification (bus voltage, motor power or torque, application, target quantity) plus the brand assets: logo as vector .ai / .eps / .svg, packaging design as print-ready PDF, datasheet template if you want the spec sheet rebranded, target carton dimensions, country-of-origin marking requirement. NDA on request — send your standard mutual NDA template at this stage.
  2. Step 2 — Engineering shortlist + branded-sample quote within 1 working day. Two or three matched motor SKUs (FOB Ningbo and CIF target port), feasibility note on the artwork (logo placement on housing, colour-match check on packaging, label durability), recommended branding method (laser vs label vs pad-print vs embossed), branded-sample lead time, production MOQ, lead-time matrix. NDA signed before further design transfer.
  3. Step 3 — Branded sample in 2–3 weeks. Sample MOQ 1 unit at sample pricing — physical motor with your logo and label applied, real carton with your packaging artwork printed. Customer signs off on the physical branded unit before any production tooling moves forward. Branded sample lead time is longer than unbranded (2–3 weeks vs 7–10 days) because artwork has to be proofed, laser-master or label-master set up, and carton print-proofed.
  4. Step 4 — PO + brand artwork freeze + production-line slot. Customer issues PO with quantity per SKU, ship date, Incoterm, payment term and locked artwork files. Artwork freeze is a written sign-off — once locked, the run uses exactly that file set; later artwork change resets the proofing window. Factory confirms production-line slot in writing. T/T 30% deposit triggers component procurement, packaging print run and stator winding.
  5. Step 5 — Production with QA at each station; pre-shipment inspection. Production through CNC, winding, assembly, PCB, end-of-line testing — every motor receives an individual end-of-line test record (no-load current, no-load speed, Hall sequence, resistance per phase, dielectric strength). Two days before shipment, AQL inspection on site or via live video — random unit teardown, dimensional check, branding inspection (logo placement, label adhesion, carton print quality), Hall test, no-load current. Third-party SGS / BV / Intertek / TUV welcome.
  6. Step 6 — Branded packaging + sea or air freight from Ningbo. Branded units ship in customer-artwork packaging from Ningbo Beilun port. FOB / CIF / CFR / DAP / DDP supported on selected lanes through our forwarder network. ~2,500 standard motor units per 20GP, ~5,500 per 40HQ — confirm exact load by SKU and carton dimensions at quote stage. Commercial invoice and packing list on customer letterhead on request, so destination customs entry shows your brand only.

NDA On First Inquiry

Send your standard mutual NDA template with the first email and we sign before any artwork or design package transfer. If you don't have a template, Shenghe's mutual NDA is one page in English — happy to use either.

Artwork On Access-Controlled Servers

Customer brand artwork (logo files, packaging design, datasheet templates, photographs) is stored on access-controlled internal servers — engineering, packaging-print and label-print teams have role-based access only. Files are not shared with other customers and not used for Shenghe marketing without written permission.

No Grey-Market Resale

Branded units do not leave the factory through any channel other than the customer's PO. Shenghe does not sell customer-branded inventory back-channel to third parties, does not list customer-branded SKUs on B2B marketplaces, and does not allow distributor-level resale of branded units without written permission.

Customer Owns The Brand

The customer holds the brand IP — logo, name, trademark, trade dress. Shenghe does not register or claim any rights in the customer's mark, anywhere. Trademark or logo filing in the customer's market (US TMOEP, EUIPO, CN CNIPA, JP JPO, etc.) is the customer's responsibility — we don't file on your behalf, and we don't claim ownership.

Drop-Ship Under Your Brand

FOB / CIF / DAP and DDP shipments leave Ningbo with your brand on the carton, your SKU on the label, your country-of-origin marking. Commercial invoice and packing list on customer letterhead on request — destination customs entry shows your brand only, not Shenghe's. Amazon FBA pre-paid LTL and direct-to-warehouse delivery in destination country supported on confirmed shipping plans.

The line runs on Shenghe's process IP — winding tooling, assembly fixturing, controller firmware, QA test stand. Production Capability

One Site, Five In-House Production Stations.

The reason Shenghe branded samples ship in 2–3 weeks and OEM repeat orders land in 3–4 weeks is that none of the five core production stations are subcontracted. 1. CNC Machining

YT40 and Xinchuan XC36 CNC lathe lines turn motor housings, shafts and end caps to drawing tolerance. Operator-supervised, with first-article inspection on every batch. Custom shaft geometry and out-of-band tolerance handled here — the OEM custom-shaft step happens on this floor.

2. Stator Winding

In-house stator winding line on machined housings — copper wire diameter, turn count and slot fill verified against the BOM at each batch start. OEM voltage / Hall configuration is locked by the BOM at this station; the same SKU under different brands does not vary electrically.

3. Motor Assembly + Branding

Final assembly stations integrate stator, rotor, bearings, end caps and Hall harness. Logo etching (laser or pad-print) and customer label application happen on the same station path so branding tolerance and label adhesion get inspected as part of end-of-line QA, not as an afterthought.

4. Controller PCB

BLD22010, BLD6010 and BLDB6010 servo controller PCBs are built on the same site. For OEM customers shipping motor + controller pairs, the controller carries the customer's label and the PCB silkscreen rev tag is locked against the BOM the customer signed off — no firmware drift between sample and production.

5. End-of-Line Test & Branding QA

Performance test bench measures torque curve, no-load current, peak efficiency and thermal rise. Every motor receives an individual end-of-line test record. Branding QA — logo placement tolerance, label adhesion, carton print quality, country-of-origin marking — runs on the same line as electrical QA so the buyer's AQL inspection sees one consistent batch.

ISO 9001 — Quality Management

Factory-level ISO 9001 certificate covers OEM production. Procedures cover supplier qualification, in-process inspection, end-of-line test, non-conformance handling, calibration and traceability — the documentation set procurement audit teams expect to see on a brand-customer's audit visit.

CE Marking — EMC + LVD

Export-spec BLDC motors and matched controllers carry CE marking covering EMC and LVD. Declaration-of-conformity documents can be issued on the customer's letterhead naming the customer's legal entity as the EU economic operator (or naming Shenghe if the customer prefers a transparent supply chain). EMC test reports released under NDA.

RoHS — Restricted Substances

RoHS compliance covers lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBB and PBDE. Material declarations from copper, magnet, bearing and cable suppliers are kept on file and refreshed annually. RoHS DoC issued on customer letterhead on request — drops straight into your compliance dossier.

REACH — EU Chemical Compliance

Per-Shipment Test & Material Reports

What Brand Customers Ask Before The First Branded Sample.

What does OEM mean for BLDC motors?

The customer brings their brand and Shenghe manufactures the motor under that brand — carton, motor body, datasheet PDF and country-of-origin marking all carry the customer's identity, not Shenghe's. Distinct from ODM (Shenghe designs from your spec) and from a stock motor with our logo. The customer holds the brand IP; Shenghe holds the manufacturing know-how.

What's the minimum order for OEM with our brand?

100–500 units per SKU per order, depending on motor frame and customization depth. Logo + label + customer carton no other change: 100 units. Custom RAL paint setup: 300 units. Embossed logo or out-of-band shaft: 500 units. Sample units before the production order are 1 unit at sample pricing.

Can you put our logo directly on the motor housing?

Yes — laser etching (permanent, no tooling fee), printed label / sticker (most flexible), pad-printed silk-screen (mid durability), or embossed logo cast into the housing (one-time tooling fee). Send the logo as vector .ai / .eps / .svg at the inquiry stage and we quote the method that matches your durability and budget.

How do you handle brand IP and NDAs?

NDA on first inquiry — your template or ours. Customer artwork retained on access-controlled servers, never reused, never shared. No grey-market resale: branded units only ship under your PO. Customer holds the brand IP; trademark filing in your market (US TMOEP / EUIPO / CN CNIPA / JP JPO) is your responsibility.

Lead time difference between OEM and off-shelf?

Do you offer ODM (full custom design)?

What payment terms do you offer for OEM orders?

T/T 30/70 standard (30% on PO confirmation, 70% against B/L copy before shipment). L/C at sight on orders ≥ USD 30,000. PayPal for samples < USD 1,000. Bank details and SWIFT released on the formal pro-forma invoice after PO confirmation. Sinosure trade credit insurance available on confirmed-volume contracts.
